ABOUT THE COLLEGE

It is an academic institution under the banner of Radiant Educational Trust dedicated to quality education specially in Higher Secondary Level.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES

  1. To pursue excellence and set the pace in the field of Higher Secondary Education.
  2. To provide quality education.
  3. To provide extra coaching for Engineering and Medical Entrance Examination. Eminent teachers excelled in teaching will be invited as ‘guest faculty’ for such coaching.
  4. To make a conscious effort so as to promote ideas of national integration, secularism, scientific outlook and a cosmopolitan and humanitarian approach towards society and the world community.

STAFF

A dedicated team of experienced faculties are selected to teach and guide the student. In addition to this, visiting faculties will be invited for each subject to solve and discuss the difficult topics of the subjects from time to time.

LABORATORY

The college has well equipped laboratories with adequate accommodation and maximum facilities in the department of Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Geography.

BUILDING

The college has well furnished class rooms, laboratories, library, toilet etc

LIBRARY

The college provides a well stocked library with textbooks, reference books, various entrance related books, and newspapers. The library is open for the students from 10 am to 3 pm.

LOCATION

The college is situated at Milanpur, Ward No. – 7, Dergaon town. It is only about ½ K.M. from A. T. road (Lahoti Chariali) and ½ K.M. from Narikolguri, Dergaon.

WALL MAGAZINE

The college publishes a wall magazine named “SARASWAT” half yearly to develop the writing skill of the students.

CANTEEN

Canteen facilities are provided during college hours inside the college campus. The quality of food is constantly monitored by the college authority.

COLLEGE UNIFORM

The uniform of the college for both boys & girls is as follows:
BOYS: Light Sky blue Shirt & Black formal pants with a Black Tie, Black Shoes & White shocks.
GIRLS: Light Sky blue Shirt & Black Skirt with a Black Tie, Black Shoes &
White shocks. (The length of the Skirt must be below Knee mandatory)
In winter for both: Black Blazer & Sweater.
(N.B. = Students must collect their tie, belt & Sweater from the college office at their own cost.)

HOSTEL ACCOMMODATION

The college can arrange well secured and well furnished hostels at walking distance from the college for both boys & girls at a reasonable rate. The details of the rules and regulations of the hostels are provided in the hostel admission form.

This college offers courses of the Higher Secondary level in both Science & Arts streams recognized by Assam Higher Secondary Education Council. (From the year 2010, AHSEC adopts NCERT curriculum)

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

  1. Application forms for admission into Higher Secondary (First Year) are issued during May.
  2. Interested candidates eligible to apply should submit their prescribed forms along with their attested copies of mark sheets, admit card, pass certificate from the institution last studied, on or before the date of submission notified.
  3. No application will be accepted after the last date (if any) fixed and application submitted incomplete will stand automatically cancelled.
  4. The application must be personally present at the time of counseling / interview prior to the admission.
  5. Original Mark Sheet, Pass Certificate etc. must be shown at the time of counseling / interview for verification without which no student will be admitted.
  6. Candidates selected must take admission on the date fixed by the college authority. Failing to do so will result in the forfeiture of the claim for admission.
  7. Student who passed H.S.L.C. or equivalent examination earlier than 2015 shall have to furnish appropriate gap certificate at the time of admission.

IDENTITY CARD

Students will get an Identity Card at the time of admission. They must keep it with them within the college campus; a lost Identity Card will be replaced by a new one on payment.

SEMINAR AND POPULAR TALKS

Radiant College organizes Seminars, Popular Talks, Career Counseling Programme, Motivation Programme Etc. by inviting renewed and experienced personalities from time to time for the upliftment of the student community.

STUDENT CLASS ATTENDANCE

  1. College classes begin from 9 am. However some special classes may be arranged before the scheduled time.
  2. It is compulsory to attend classes regularly. A student is required to obtain a minimum of 85% attendance of the total lectures delivered on each academic session, failing which he or she will be debarred from appearing in the examination. He or she may also have to forfeit the seat.
  3. All students are required to attend college in prescribed uniform. The time table followed is such that the students are not burdened and it is made sure that whatever has been taught is understood by the students thoroughly. “Quality education is our Dictum”.

ASSESSMENT TESTS

The college will hold assessment tests of students as stated in the academic calendar. In this regard progress report, cumulative record (Mark Sheet) will be sent to the parent / guardian of each student, mentioning in detail about his / her performance in each unit test. After the test examination, the student’s cumulative performance can be easily judged and thereupon necessary measures can be undertaken to plug in his / her loopholes prior to the final examination. If the students don’t appear in the internal examinations conducted by the college without any genuine reason, A fine of rupees 500/- only will be charged for each subject. A student may be exempted from the fine on medical grounds only after producing a medical certificate.

SPECIAL PACKAGE FOR BRILLIANT STUDENTS

  1. A scholarship of Rs. 10,000/- (Ten Thousand) is given to the students who will score more than 90% marks in H.S. final examination.
  2. College will provide few seats for economically weak brilliant students. A student must have to secure more than 85% marks in HSLC exam for Science stream & 75% marks for Arts stream to get free studentship. The free studentship will be continued in the HS 2 nd year only if they get more than 60% marks in the HS 1 st year final examination. Radiant Educational Trust will bear all the dues
    (Admission fees and Monthly tuition fees) of such students.

GENERAL INSTRUCTION/ COLLEGE RULES

  • Students will have to pay tuition fees for 12 calendar months of the academic session from June to May.
  • Students must pay the tuition fees upto May before filling up forms of the examinations.
  • Fees must be paid within 10 th of the stipulated month, otherwise late fines will be charged at the rate of Rs. 50/- per month. Payment must be made in cash.
  • Defaulters will not be allowed to fill up the forms for final examination.
  • Regular attendance of each student is a must right from the beginning of the session.
  • A student who remains absent for 15 days without proper authorization from the principal, will have his name struck off from rolls and may not be readmitted.
  • The college property must be handled carefully. Penalty will be imposed upon the student concerned for any change/ loss of the college property.
  • Spitting on the walls and staircases will be viewed seriously. The students detected involving in such activities will be highly penalized.
  • Students must bring their books and copies in bags.
  • Excellent attendance, punctuality, effort, and respect are required for success.
  • Radiant college will arrange guardian-teachers interaction from time to time to discuss the progress report of the students. Guardians must attain the guardian-teachers meet & in other occasions, they must come to the office when they will be needed by the college authority.
  • College uniforms must be required for all students.
  • Gutka, tobacco & any intoxicated materials are strictly prohibited.
  • MOBILE PHONE IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. If found students are panelized with a fine of Rupees 1000/- and parents must come to collect the cell. Fees once paid will not be refunded.
